How does DoggyDoor work?
1. Research the breed
Our breeders love nothing more than interacting with people who have brushed up on the basics of the breed that they're interested in. We recommend that you first visit our Learning Centre before applying for a puppy.
If you are serious about the responsibilities of dog ownership, then you may apply to a breeder via DoggyDoor. If the breeder thinks that you may be a suitable fit for his/her puppy, the breeder will be in touch with you about one of their upcoming litters.
Waiting for the right breeder and breed is important. Often ANKC registered breeders, who are in high demand, may request for you to wait several months until their next litter is due. Buying a dog is not a decision which you want to rush. So now it's time to wait!
Once the pups are finally born, the breeder typically contacts those on their waiting list to establish who is still interested in one of their pups. If you are still interested at this time, now is your chance to secure a pup!
To proceed, the breeder will ask you for a deposit payment in order to secure one of their pups.
Before you collect your pup (or have it couriered), the breeder will ask you for the balance payment.
All payments on DoggyDoor are processed by the Stripe Connect platform and are always paid via credit card. For this reason, all payments via DoggyDoor are secure and traceable.
Please note, there is a DoggyDoor fee which is paid by the buyer (as a component in the deposit payment). DoggyDoor does not charge any fees to the breeder.
