Why all our breeders are ANKC registered
Making the decision to adopt a puppy is an extremely exciting time for you and your family. You will have reflected on your lifestyle, and decided upon which breed is right for you. Now… where to next? Deciding where to get your new puppy from is just as important as deciding which breed to introduce into your home.
The Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) aims to promote excellence in breeding, showing, trialling, obedience and other canine related activities and the ownership of temperamentally and physically sound pure-bred dogs by responsible individuals across Australia, as well as promoting responsible dog ownership. The ANKC has 8 members from each major state in the country. They include:
Registered breeders of these organisations are bound by their Code of Practice for the breeding and welfare of puppies. Registered breeders also confirm that they are able to provide you with registration papers for your new purebred (pedigreed) puppy.
We highly recommend adopting a puppy from a registered ANKC breeder. This may mean that you have to wait a little longer for your puppy, but in doing so, this ensures the health and happiness of the breed and importantly, encourages ethical practices going forward.
